Conventions style techniques Which one is it in Goodwin's theory? Conventions of thank u, next (Ariana Grande): Links to Andrew Goodwin's theory as it Contradicts the lyrics of the song. The music video h as no link between lyrics and video and includes  an abstract style as it features Christmas costumes but never mentions Christmas.  Ariana cuts to the beat of different shots and uses transitions on beat. Pastiche= Completely references something else.
